My cooking tip: If you don't have a roasting pan to bake your turkey this year, place 2 or 3 carrots crosswise underneath the bird to ensure proper heat circulation.
I use a large roaster for my turkey now.... it frees up my oven and makes for a nice moist bird because the moisture stays in the unit.
If you don't have a roaster, another great way to cook a turkey is to cook it the first half of the cooking time upside down (laying on the breast meat), then carefully flip it at the halfway cooking time. This allows the moisture and oils from the dark meat to penetrate the breast meat making it much more moist than otherwise. It doesn't make for the prettiest feast, but it is delish!
