Wednesday Tip Day----Freezing Meat?

I recently read a clipping from Family Circle, aug 2010, that suggested dipping meat, fish and poultry in water before freezing.  "This gives the food an even protective layer that helps prevent freezer burn".

What are your favorite tricks for freezing proteins such as meat, fish and poultry?

That's a new one on me! I'll have to give it a try.
If possible, I like to cut up my meat before freezing it. For instance, if I'm planning on Stroganoff I'll cut my steak into strips. Browning ground beef ahead of time and dividing into meal-sized portions is very helpful. If your ground beef is raw, divide it up into meal sized portions and flatten out the bags of meat so they stack nicely.
And don't forget to trim and divide up chicken, too!
Doing things ahead of time is my best freezing meat tip!

I haven't heard that either, but I think I'll try it. I have a constant problem with freezer burn.

Great tip about adding that protective layer on meat. I never thought of that before. I will definitely try it out soon!
